Since Facebook has bought Instagram for nearly a billion dollars in cash and stock, many users, bloggers, economy experts have thought Instagram could build its first real photo camera.Imagine to pick the Instagram App icon and now imagine it as real camera.

With the integrated printer you could print out your photography directly on Instagram Paper Sheets. Every Instagram printed photo reports your Instagram nickname and a QR code on the frontside.

The Paper Sheets have a retro touch with a glue strip, just like a post-it. On the bottom of your printed photo you will have a dedicated space to write something on your own, like on the old Polaroid photos. Photo-it, emotion-it, print-it and finally post-it. Designed specifically to be downloadable in order to reduce environmental issues related to transport, costs of stock keeping and explore collaborative design and distribution, this furniture can be edited in size and materials, is made on location or can be self-made by downloading the blueprints.

The concept was to turn the pieces inside out to make construction simple, while brackets and structural details become distinctive and attractive features.

The connections are 3d printed to suit various sizes of wood, and the crafting is minimal requiring only cutting to length and drilling.

Unable to prevent revellers urinating against their trees, Roskilde Festival in Denmark installed tree-mounted urinals by Dutch designers Aandeboom.

The P-Tree urinals are made of rotational-moulded plastic and can either connect to the main sewage system or a tank with a pump.

50 of the orange urinals were strapped to tree trunks for the festival last weekend.

The P-Trees were a great success at the Roskilde Festival 2011 in Denmark, with more than 100,000 visitors and many of them using the P-TREE more than once. For Roskilde AANDEBOOM produced 50 P-Trees in the typical Roskilde Orange color. The P-Trees were placed on 2 different spots near the main stage. By using the P-Tree the festivals problem with public peeing was significant reduced.

A porcelain desk organiser which takes its idea from an observation that many people use mugs to hold their pens. Combining this idea with the iconic plastic tube desk organiser of the 70’s inspired the form. At a quick glance the decoration has a traditional feel, but look closer and you will see modern day desk items hidden in the pattern.

This plastic cutlery that clips together to form little sculptures at the dinner table is by German design studio ding3000.

Early word about two new monitors from Samsung had emerged since before CES, but no one was all that sure just what these monitors were packing. But fresh information has emerged giving some more specifics on the Samsung monitors, and we’ve got them here.

Basically, this is going to be a whole sort of “tech-tree” kind of release, with there being basically four different flavors in two different classes of monitor, and you’ll also have the option to go full HDTV with these as well.

The shapes are simple, curiously futuristic and give a real new identity comparing with the “prevoius parents”

The monitors available will offer up your choice of 23 or 27 inch monitor that offer 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 2 ms response time - this is the only negative point, comparing with the previous P2770FH with 1ms.

You’ll get DisplayPort or HDMI connections (no VGA, keeping in line with earlier projections that say VGA is on the way out), and WLED backlighting on all models, with Touch of Color design and a 2D to 3D conversion capability available as options on the upper-end versions.

The HDTV /monitor versions, meanwhile, will pack plenty more options in them. While you’ll get that same 1920 x 1080 resolution in that same 23 or 27 inch screen size, you’ll also get WLED backlighting, a 5 ms response time, and 2D to 3D conversion on all models, as well as a variety of connectors, including HDMI ports, USB ports, RF for connecting to older equipment or to cable, two seven watt speakers with SRS TheaterSound, DTS 2.0 and Dolby Digital decoders, and on some models, you’ll even get Samsung’s Touch of Color design.

The one thing we don’t have, however, is price. 3D capable monitors and HDTV’s won’t be cheap by any stretch of the imagination, so you can probably look for these to trend on the higher side of the market. But still, Samsung models have often proven solid investments in the past, so most any price probably won’t be too high to pay on a quality Samsung piece. Too high for people to afford, that’s always possible, but the value should be there.

Called Rubber Table, each product has five legs and an irregularly shaped top, moulded from dyed foam rubber.

dsgn | dancing squares - nendo

Japanese designers Nendo present new work at Art Stage gallery in Singapore this month.  

Called Dancing Squares, the show will include a bookshelf, lamp, stool and table, each made up of distorted or tumbling squares.

One part of the bookshelf is frozen in its cascade of tumbling planes, creating variety in the way books can be stacked.

The stool’s twist endows it with visual play.

Since Mozilla Labs launched the Concept Series with an open call for participation we’ve had thousands of people join in, share ideas and develop concepts around Firefox, the Mozilla projects and the Open Web as a whole.

In response to our open call Billy May, in early 2009, produced a throw-away concept for an “Open Web Concept Phone”. Working directly off of that community feedback, Billy has since finished the exploration with his concept “Seabird”.
